ACLU-CONNECTICUT TO CHALLENGE STATE’S PLANS TO RESTICT FREE SPEECH  OF PROTESTORS NIGHT OF ROSS EXECUTION IN COURT

 

The ACLU of Connecticut today will hold a press conference to announce it represents a variety of Plaintiffs, including Murder Victims’ Families for Human Rights, Amnesty International and the Connecticut Network to Abolish the Death Penalty, in a law suit to be filed today against state and local officials challenging the restrictions DOC, the State Police and the Town of Enfield have proposed placing on protestors planning to demonstrate near the Osborn Correction Facility the night of the Michael Ross execution. 

 The press conference will be held at: 

3:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 11
ACLU of Connecticut Offices
32 Grand St.
Hartford

 Representatives of the Plaintiff organizations, including Robert Cushing, Executive Director of MVFHR, will be available for comment.  Copies of the complaint in the lawsuit will be made available at the press conference,  but not before.
